Zen & Tangle

Zen & Tangle - closeup
A long while ago, I had this idea of making a coloring book with my own drawings but I had only just started on one piece which I only finished this week. I call this 'zen & tangle'. You can download and print this piece for your coloring enjoyment at the links at the end of this post.

Zen & Tangle
Some suggestions for printing:
- print in black and white mode
- print on thick paper if you're planning on using markers or ink that might seep through the paper
- if you can, print from the pdf as this will not loose picture quality no matter how large you print it
- if you can, print at a larger percentage so you can see the details

Summer Idleness

'thumbelina's reading break'
01/ I've been quite neglectful about this blog but I'm too lazy to do anything about it. I've thought about quitting blogging tons of times but I've never actually done it. It just seems unnecessary since I'll probably just start another blog. I mean, to me, it's easy to quit social media but blogging, it's seems harder. Like something is always drawing me back to it. And for some reason, even if you quit your blog, take a year off, and then re-start with a new blog, it never feels like you've quitted somehow, like you can start blogging again and not feel like you've missed much, at least, that's my feeling.

02/ Summer is for reading, well, every season is for reading but for some reason, summer always seems like a reading season to me. But I'm a picky reader. I hardly ever read nonfiction and only occasionally contemporary if they are funny or if they are extraordinary in some way. I don't read horror or anything with zombies or vampires - I really just don't like to be scared. But as a picky reader, there are still plenty of books for me to read. So if you have any book recommendations, feel free to share them in the comments.

03/ I just posted this piece at my society6 shop. Purchase a print over here. Now that's the extend of my promoting my shop this summer. I doubt I would mention it again unless I post some new pieces there.

04/ I'm trying to write my comments with capitals nows. Someone had said something about it and it make me feel like a lazy person for not capitalizing words. So I've been writing my comments with their proper caps. Now I'm thinking, bah, what's the big deal? So I might not do it anymore or maybe sometimes I will.

05/ I've given up making lists that are seven items long. It just seems silly and kind of unnecessary. Seven remains my favorite number but who needs to make lists seven items long anyway?

What have you been doing these days?

01/ This album: World Be Gone – Erasure
World Be Gone wasn't released this year but it's still a lovely album. I don't usually listens to new releases right away so any music I discovered is always a few years later. Listen to the title track below. Check out the album here.

02/ This 2019 Wildlife wall calender from Modern Printed Matter
I like calendars printed like this - single page binding instead of the fold over which I hate and I really do not write on my calendar so there's no need for those large boxes. 10% of the sales of these calendars will be donated to the Center for Biological Diversity which works to save all species from extinction. You can still purchase the 2019 calendar here.

03/ This artwork: Georgia's Sister by Iris Scott
I really like rain and umbrella artworks but I rarely find ones that I would put on my wall but this one has become a favorite and yes, it's on my wall in a nice frame. You can purchase the print here.
