Three Things

Keep calm & panic peacefully

01/ I've made some slight changes to my blog:

(a) I've changed to a two column which I don't generally like but this time I do. I can't seem to settle on a horizontal header so I went with a sidebar-like header which I think works for me anyway.

(b) I updated my bookmarks page somewhat. I'm a little hesitant on removing blogs that haven't been updating even for a year because I keep hoping those bloggers would come back. But I removed a few links and added some new ones.

(c) I've deleted my Bloglovin' account because I just don't like it. I just think when something is not working for me, it's a good idea to give it up. Maybe it's a terrible move but maybe it's not so bad. Plus, can't you just add blogs to any feed reader without the blogger needing something such as Bloglovin'? (I really hate that they left out the g at the end and my spellcheck keeps saying it's spelled wrong.)

(d) I put up the Google Friend Connect and also an email option to subscribe at the footer of my blog. So maybe it's a bit Blogger-oriented but if I find another site like Bloglovin' and then maybe I'll use them in place of Bloglovin'.

02/ I like making signs (above and below) for no reason. It doesn't have to make sense. Well, it makes sense to me.
Keep calm & panic madly

03/ I dreamt I wandered into a large hair salon with high ceilings and strange looking hairdressers, like perhaps with features not quite human. Then this woman appeared. She looked the most normal among the other hairdressers. When she got closer, I saw her glowed like a sun and it gave me a nice feeling. So I followed her into a dimly lit room through black curtains. There were some discussion which I can't remember what about but soon a black gown was in my hand. The woman disappeared and another woman appeared with a cup of tea. In a few moments, I was ushered out to get my haircut but then I woke up and that's that. I never had that dream again. This might not seem a strange or particularly interesting dream but I have never been to a salon or had my hair cut by strangers so this dream is like something I would never do but sort of daring to do. I actually do not remember dreams but this is still in my head. Guess that means I should just go get a haircut and try not to think hairdressers are aliens.

What's on your mind today?

  1. I never change my template or anything, but I enjoy coming here and not knowing what to expect every time. Also, "panic peacefully" is genius LOL. It even has an alliteration.

How did you manage to delete your Bloglovin' account? I mean, is it deleted for good? Because, you remember my BL post - it sounded like there wasn't any way to do it at the time (unless you deleted your account, but your blog can still be seen on BL no matter what...).

    1. Out of curiosity, I searched for "The Memory of Rain" in the BL database, and found this:
      https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/memory-rain-1497684

People will still be able to follow you and see your new posts even if you deleted your account...because as I said, no blog can ever get deleted on there.

    2. Maybe people don't notice but I change my blog's quite often, I can't seem to stick to a permanent look, plus I do look at my blog a lot because I have my blogroll there.

I just deleted the account I signed up for at Bloglovin. This does not remove my blog from their listing or whatever. I think as long as your blog is out there on the web, anyone can find it. But now I have no direct link to any Bloglovin page unless they look for it.

Thank you for stopping by, have a lovely day.

    1. And I understand your problems with the lay-out of the blog. It is either too much or too little, and never how it should look. Keep on fighting.

    2. I think changing my blog's look now and then is a bad thing. I have no panic about making template changes and such. I guess I'm so used to changing it that it now became a habit.

Thank you for stopping by, have a lovely day.

  3. I am too wimpy to change the appearance of my blog. A blogging friend did so, and never got back the features she most wanted to keep. Sigh.
    Keeping calm? A rarity here.

    1. Actually, it's pretty easy to change Blogger templates if you know how to do it. Perhaps some of the features your friend lost are still there. If you go to 'Layout' in your Blogger dashboard and hit any of the 'Add a Gadget', there is a whole list of features that you can add - one of those is probably what she lost.

Keeping calm is a rarity anywhere but that doesn't mean it can't be done now and then.

Thank you for stopping by, have a lovely day.

    1. I think so too. Strange I should remember this and not many of the others.

Thank you for stopping by, have a lovely day.
