Resolutions 2019 — Update

I made these resolutions in January so I thought it's time for an update. I would try for a later update but I know I'll probably won't even do anything from the list except maybe #3 and #4 but those two are always something I meant to do anyway. So these resolutions are nothing to brag about but I just think maybe if I succeeded in doing a little of something, it won't seem like I have been wasting the year away.

01/ Worry about tomorrow's problem tomorrow —  Succeeded — or so I think but how does one not worry at all?

02/ Don't save things thinking I'll use them later
Succeeded slightly — it's kind of hard not to save new things for later especially if it's something expensive or hard to come by

03/ Finish up my drawingsFailed but I'm not unhappy about it — I have this goal for a while and the unfinished pieces keeps piling up so I'll probably never finish all of them anyway but I do try a little

04/ Write/finish those novels Failed — I never seem to succeed with this one even though I tried all the time but it's not terrible, at least I wrote stuff

05/ Be more active on InstagramFailed — but I really just don't care for the format at all

06/ Promote my Society6 ShopKind of succeeded since I did mentioned it here now and then but honestly, if I'm not on social media (like Instagram), I really do not get any publicity at all (and if you're interested in checking out the shop, go here)

07/ Do more of what makes me happy —  Succeeded mostly because I seem to enjoy not doing stuff

Did you make any new year's resolutions? If you did, how did you do?

  1. I don't do new year resolutions. I think your final resolution was perhaps the most important and I am glad that is one of the ones you succeeded with. I don't do social media (other than blogging) and spend enough time on line as it is.
I always love (and am impressed by) your art.

    1. These aren't necessary resoultions since I never actually vowed to do them but only do them if I wanted to.

Thank you for visiting & have a lovely day.

  2. First off, I love the graphic here! Especially the little uni-rabbit LOL. How do you even get these ideas?

4 out of 7 is not so bad. And if Instagram is not for you, I say let it go. I understand you need an outlet for your art, but it shouldn't feel like a chore because the format isn't your thing. About promoting - I always try to let people know about your blog, and right now I'm promoting your header giveaway on Twitter (I plan on tweeting about it every few days). I hope you'll get more visitors that way, though I guess my friends are happy with their blog graphics as they are! But you never know.

    1. The uni-rabbit was in another piece but it's not as noticeable. I do like strange animal combinations.

Social media is not for everyone but I like to try it occasionally but I don't mind quitting it.

Thank you for visiting & have a lovely day.

  3. Gratz on keeping the most important promise to yourself. By not doing stuff I suspect you - like me - means not finishing stuff. That drawing sure is "stuff" ;)
I never make new year's resolution. Not at least because the timing. January is such a dreary, forlorn month. Not a good time of year to begin something new and shiny. I advocate for summer holiday resolutions instead.

    1. 'Nothing doing stuff' means being lazy and actually not doing stuff but also not finishing stuff. I seem to start on a lot of projects but note quite finishing them.

I also find January to be a bit depressing. I think February is more of the start of new year instead of January.

Resolutions during the summer sounds great although hot weather makes me less motivated.

Thank you for visiting & have a lovely day.

  4. At least you remember what your beginning of the year goals were. I know I set some, but I can't even remember what they were...and I can't find the notebook I wrote them down in. sigh. Maybe I'll do better next year. :D

    1. I remember because I have posted on my blog or else I really would not remember at all.

Thank you for visiting & have a lovely day.

  5. It is hard not to worry. I'm usually pretty good about not obsessing over things that I can't really change anyway, or worry about upcoming stuff, but sometimes... I do lol. It happens. :)

And glad you're doing stuff that makes you happy (even if that includes not doing certain stuff)! I mean, there's a time for everything, right, so they say, and sometimes it's not the right time for certain things.

    1. I agreed, trying not to worry is hard. Who can helpt it?

Perhaps it's true that some things are meant to be done at a certain time.

Thank you for visiting & have a lovely day.

  6. You have a good list of resolutions! No I don't make any. I used to, but I never kept any of them! Or only for a few weeks...
My biggest issue is having too much stuff for too little space. If I made one single resolution, it would be to clear all the clutter, totally, and never let it mount up again. I keep working on it!

    1. That would be one of my resolutions too - clean out the clutter but it keeps piling up.

Thank you for stopping by, have a lovely day.
